Caverta - sildenafil citrate - generic drug for Viagra.  When a new drug is produced the drug company that has developed the drug will assign the drug two names.  Firstly a 'brand' name - the name under which the drug will be marketed - in this case the brand name is Viagra.  It will also assign the drug a chemical name - a generic name - which describes the chemical compound that gives the drug it's particular properties. 

The generic name for Viagra is sildenafil citrate.  Once a new drug like Viagra has been created, the drug company has a period of years to sell it's new product as the sole supplier.  This rightly enables the drug company to recoup development and marketing costs - which can be very substantial.  Once the sole supplier period is over, other companies are permitted to sell 'generic' versions of the drug, such as Caverta.  Clearly, in the case of generic products like Caverta there are no development costs to recoup, hence generic brands of products are always cheaper than the original branded version of the product.
